Sotra Link has been awarded a PPP contract on the Sotra connection

The PPP company Sotra Link has been awarded a contract for the Sotra connection, the largest fixed-price contract in transport in Norwegian history to date. The announcement was made by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration at a press conference today. Norconsult is one of two Norwegian consulting companies that are part of the consortium.

“This confirms our position as a leader in large road projects, and we are very happy to be participating in this giant project with a strong team led by Marie Broo. We find it particularly intriguing that the Norwegian Public Roads Administration highlights Norconsult's world-leading expertise in bridges as positive for the project. We look forward to a good collaboration with the consortium”, says Sigurd Rugsland, director of transport at Norconsult.

The PPP contract (public-private partnership) awarded to Sotra Link is the largest single contract the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has ever entered, and the largest contract awarded in the EU so far in 2021, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration writes in a press release. Sotra Link will finance, projects, build, operate and maintain the road system.
