Ship Allision probability Risoy Bridge
The new Risøy bridge is a planned arch bridge in Haugesund, Norway. The bridge spans Smedasundet, an arm from the highly heavily trafficked Karmsundet strait. As part of the planning, a detailed probability assessment for ship allision against the bridge from the ship traffic in Karmsundet, to investigate the need for a protective barrier in the inlet of Smedasundet.
Underwater Tunnels in the Faroe Islands
Norconsult has designed four key tunnels in the Faroe Islands since 2002. The new 10.8-kilometer-long Sandoy Tunnel, which runs under the fjord from Gamlarætt on Streymoy to Traðardalur on Sandoy, was opened on December 21, 2023.
Behavioral analysis of pedestrians using AI
Norconsult, on behalf of Vestland County Municipality, has conducted behavior analyses for pedestrians in downtown Bergen. The analyses were performed using innovative tools for collecting and analyzing traffic data from video recordings utilizing artificial intelligence.
