Farah Al-Aieshy new CEO of Norconsult AB

Farah Al-Aieshy has been appointed as the new CEO for Norconsult AB and Executive Vice President of the Norconsult Group. Farah is currently employed by Sweco, where she has held several executive positions and is currently the divisional manager of Sweco Management.

“I am very pleased that Farah Al-Aieshy has accepted the position as CEO of Norconsult in Sweden. Al-Aieshy has many years of relevant industry experience from a number of interdisciplinary consultancy firms and has a broad network of contacts in Swedish industry and commerce. With Farah on the team, Norconsult in Sweden is well equipped to maintain its strong corporate culture and continue developing the company in new markets,” says Egil Hogna, CEO of Norconsult.

Al-Aieshy has an MSc from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and around 24 years’ experience in her field. After KTH, she began her career as a bridge designer and later as a highway and road designer. After a number of years as a designer and project manager, Farah’s interest in executive leadership was aroused, first as the assignment manager for major projects and later as a line manager at various levels, from head of section to CEO. Since 2020, she has been divisional manager for Sweco Management, with around 400 employees.

“I’m pleased to have been entrusted with leading Norconsult and look forward to getting to know the company and its employees,” says Al-Aieshy. “I’ve been curious about Norconsult and have followed the company’s journey from a distance. Norconsult occupies a strong position in the marketplace, and I look forward to leading the company in its continued development. It will be exciting to work with our customers to solve the challenges in society we face,” continues Al-Aieshy.

Al-Aieshy lives in Stockholm and will be based at the Norconsult office there but will share her time between the Stockholm office and the head office in Gothenburg. As CEO of Norconsult AB, she will also be a member of the Norconsult Group Management Team.

Over the past five years, Norconsult AB has doubled its sales and the number of employees. Today, the company has just over 900 employees and gross sales of a little over SEK 1 billion. Despite its strong expansion, the company has succeeded in maintaining its unique corporate culture and has for many years been the leading interdisciplinary consultancy firm in terms of employee satisfaction and commitment. In 2021, Norconsult was appointed Technical Consultant of the Year in the business daily PS Teknikdygnet’s survey of the industry’s employees.

Al-Aieshy will take up her position by the end of the year at the latest and will succeed Ljot Strömseng, who will leave the post of CEO after 14 years in the position. Ljot will remain CEO until Al-Aieshy takes up her position.
