Norconsult awarded contract with Bane NOR for planning of a new doble track section of Dovrebanen

Bane NOR has awarded Norconsult the contract of planning the construction of a new double track for the Ottestad–Espern section of the Dovre Line (Dovrebanen). The project is part of the InterCity development in Eastern Norway.

Norconsult’s scope of work is to prepare a new technical detailed plan and a new/revised zoning plan for the Ottestad–Espern section.

The assignment involves several professional challenges, including various considerations that must be addressed for the stretch through Åkersvika near Hamar. We know Norconsult as a skilled and professional organisation that we believe can resolve this in the best possible way, and we are pleased to have them on board, says Project Manager Anders Linnestad at Bane NOR.

“We are honoured to have won this contract, and our team looks forward to working with Bane NOR to support this project. Infrastructure is one of the cornerstones of Norconsult's history, and as Norway’s leading transportation consultant we play an important role in enabling effective and environmentally conscious traffic of people and goods”

Bård Hernes, EVP Norway Head Office at Norconsult.

The project will commence in the first quarter this year, the contract includes options for the design of construction plans and follow-up during the construction phase.
