Aneo, Norway's second-largest player in wind power, was established in 2022 by TrønderEnergi and HitecVision with ambitions to become a leading Nordic renewable energy company. Following the purchase of two wind farms in Sweden in 2023, the company has now expanded to Finland.
Norconsult and Kjeller Vindteknikk (KVT), part of Norconsult's Renewable Energy business area, provided technical advice to Aneo, leveraging their expertise in the field and geographical knowledge.
Team effort
“Technical advisory services related to the purchase and sale of renewable energy infrastructure are crucial to Norconsult's offerings, and we are very pleased that Aneo selected us for this transaction. A well-composed team of advisers from Norconsult in Norway, Sweden, and Finland, inter alia experts in, wind power, power system and construction, was essential to the project's success,” says Sedsel Fretheim Thomassen, KVT department manager.

Norconsult and KVT assessed the condition of foundations, wind turbines, electrical installations, and the power plant overall. Additionally, they performed power production analyses. The review of permiting, environmental risks and grid connection was carried out by the Finnish subcontractor Fimpec OY.
Aneo is acquiring the Kokkoneva wind farm from Greencoat Renewables PLC. This wind farm consists of nine turbines with a total capacity of 43.2 MW, providing an annual production of 129 GWh, which can supply nearly 13,000 Finnish households. The wind farm has been operational since 2022.
Norconsult and Aneo have maintained a strong partnership, collaborating on numerous projects across various renewable energy disciplines.
